Sony RCP Control of AJA ColorBox Now Available with CCC-1

Broadcast Electronics Limited is pleased to announce support for the AJA ColorBox in the latest firmware release for our Colour Correction Controller (CCC-1).

AJA ColorBox is a high-performance, ultra-low-latency colour management device, delivering processing delays of less than half a video line. Designed to meet the colour conversion and colour correction requirements of broadcast, live event, and on-set productions, ColorBox supports HDR, SDR, and Wide Colour Gamut (WCG) workflows. Using 12G-SDI for single-wire 4K/UHD operation, it incorporates advanced colour processing pipelines including Colorfront, BBC HLG LUTs, NBCUniversal LUTs, ORION-CONVERT, and ACES.

The Broadcast Electronics CCC-1 provides a unique interface between Sony Remote Control Panels (RCPs) and industry-leading colour correction and standards conversion products, including the AJA FS2, FS4, FS-HDR, Blackmagic Teranex, and now AJA ColorBox. The result is intuitive, hands-on colour control directly from the familiar RCP interface used by vision engineers worldwide.

Standards converters are frequently used in live production environments to synchronise signals, perform format conversion, and adjust colour balance. The increasing use of drones and cinematic-style cameras in live broadcasts has made the CCC-1 a popular solution where traditional remote camera control is unavailable. By combining the familiar ergonomics of the Sony RCP with the advanced colour correction capabilities of modern processing equipment, the CCC-1 enables vision engineers to paint and shade virtually any video source.

Support for AJA ColorBox is available immediately as a free firmware upgrade for all existing CCC-1 users. The new functionality is already being deployed at major international sporting events throughout 2026.
